Such a proud "Gramma"!
I recieved this note today from Chloe who owns Sohan ..........
"Just giving you a heads up on how Sohan is doing. We went the Moncton Kennel Club show this weekend and had a really great time! He made alot of new friends and saw some old friends... and he now has his first leg in Rally-O and passed his CGN test for the SECOND time!!!
Our first trial we got a score of 86. We did have a ten point deduction due to a handler error but he did well considering it was his first show! The second day again was my fault. I messed our Rally time and had to rush into the ring... and didn't have time to time to take outside to do his business... and he did it in the ring!
When it came to the CGN testing, all the dog were tired but he still did amazing! He rocked at the supervised isolation and the Sit/Stay & Sit/Stay come!!!
But all in all, he and I had ALOT of fun and can't wait to get at it again next year :D! Thank you so much for this amazing boy, I can't see myself without him! "

What we've been up to
With the coming colder months ahead we have decided to sign up for Rally classes with Bishop, Mina, Baron & Bliss. Once those are done we will also try and pursue agility with a few of the crew too!!
Mina is still here and looking fo her forever home. But while she is here Trynity has taken it upon herself to do a lot of training. Tryn & Mina recently were entered in a show, even though they didn't place in their large Junior Novice class, they had fun!
I am always looking for stories on your pups so send them my way.
Devlin finally got to show Honor in the peewee ring. They had a blast!! I cry at a lot of things but watching my two "babies" go around that ring had the tears flowing. Grandma Honor is 11 years young and still acts like she is a young pup. Devlin's sole concern was to tell the judge he won't be moving her fast "cuz she is as old as dirt!" LOL
Baron has only been to a few shows and of course has blown his coat and is going through a lanky stage where his legs are longer than a super model's .... well you get the idea.
Bishop cut his front left foot on the pastern and I had to pull him from his last show. Doesn't help he has dropped all his coat as well. Come one colder temps!!
Now for a bit of sad news ...... Karma has passed away. I am told "It wasnt parvo, it was a new strain of canine influenza that multiple dogs at that show wound up with. The number one Gordon Setter almost died from it as well." "The news came down the pike from the handlers about how many dogs that were there got sick and either died or came close to it." I am heart broken as are her owners. She was sitting on 6 points and well on he way to finishing her Canadian Championship. I am thankful I got to spend a lot of time with Karmy and know she was adored by not only her "family" but all those who met her.

West Kootaney Kennel Club show - Aug 20-22, 2010
WOW what a weekend!! First off a big THANK YOU to the WKKC club for hosting a fabulous show. This was the first year I have been and will definitely be back next year. Keara, Lochlan and I took Bishop, Spirit & Bliss to the show to have some fun and we sure did. Arriving around noon on the Thursday we set up camp and waited for our friends to arrive with their dogs, including Karma!!! This was a limited entry show so there was 2 shows per day for a total of 6 sets of points to be potentially won. There was a large entry for Aussies, 2 class males, 6 class females and a specials female (already attained a Canadian Championship).
Class males were Bishop and Risk'N Hope's Rocketman (Elton). Class females were Karma (Edanas Sunset Legacy At Debern), Buff Cap Sugarland "Capri" (owned by Theresa Casselman), a lovely blue girl Sterling You Belong To Me "Taylor" and Glory (Casselcreek Do You Believe) girl all in Jr Puppy, Spirit (Edana's One More Day HIC) in Cdn Bred and Casselcreek Rock My World "Brooke" in the open class. The specials girl did not make the trip but was Ch Buff Cap Belle Bottom Blues CGN "Belle" (owned by Theresa Casselman).
On Friday morning Elton beat Bishop for WM and Capri won her class as well as WF, BOW, BOBp & BOB. Karma placed 3rd in her class as she thought bouncing off legs was a riot!!
Friday afternoon Bishop won WM for another point (now on 4 pts) and Capri repeated her win from the morning.
Saturday Capri was moved to Specials. In the morning Elton won WM, Brooke won WF (& I think BOW) and Capri won Breed and BOBp. Karma won her class as she found her groove.
Saturday afternoon Capri won Breed and BOBp again. Bishop won WM and Brooke won WF & BOW and Karma won her class. Brooke finished her CH.
Sunday Brooke was moved to Specials and since Elton finished I guess they pulled him for whatever reason. But the break in points for males and BOW didn't much matter as Bishop won WM & BOW in both shows for 2 point wins. He is now sitting on 9 points in only two weekends of showing!! The judges all had wonderful comments about him, his movement was outstanding and nothing wasted. But to top it all off Karma won both WF for her first 4 points!
So all in all we had a fabulous weekend. I had a 3 generation photo done of the blue girls (Honor, Spirit & Karma) and will post that as well as Karma's pic as soon as I get them!!

Our First Title!!!
Edana's Take It Or Leave It CGN
Sohan and his momma, Chloe, had the opportunity to try for the CGN title today and passed with flying colors. I hear that Sohan has beautiful heel work and was enamoured with the evaluator when it came time for the brushing. I am so proud of you both!!! Keep up the good work!
CGN stands for Canine Good Neighbor. This is a test through the CKC for dogs to go through various steps in proving they have what it takes to be a good neighbor in the community. Some of the tests include being brushed/groomed by a friendly stranger, walking through a noisy crowd, being left for 2 min with a stranger in a stay/wait. This test may seem easy but there has to be a good foundation to start.

They had a blast
Here I am thinking that the puppies are totally leashed trained. NOT!! Well they are for me at least but definately not the girls. They did great though, the boys loved all the attention they got and when two of the CKC All breed judges commented "WOW those are some really nice Aussie pups" my heart soared!!
Keara showed Bishop in Peewees (he is a tad bit more laid back than his brother) and they did great. Bishop wanted to visit with everyone especially the toy poodle in front of them!!
Barona dn Trynity did qute well. Trynity placed 4th again. We definately are working on some ring procedure. She is to into what everyone else is doing and not what she should be doing. Baron stacked well and I can't wait to see their picture.
On Saturday Pandarus went to his new home. I am so happy for my special guy, his parents promised to send updates!!
Mina made the trip with us as well and all three pups are pros at riding loose in the van.

Bishop & Baron Update
Well the boys ar growing! And growing .... and growing. Here I am thinking that one morning I will wake up to find gangly legs, but every morning as I go to let them out of their crates I find perfectly proportioned pups. They are not getting to the gangly stage just yet. I am hoping it happens before their first show LOL!!
Their personalites are so different as well. Bishop is such a cuddle bum. If given the chance he would sleep on my lap everytime I sit down. In fac he is sleeping by my feet as I type this. Bishop is doing great on walks. He meets everyone face on and loves to get loves from people, especially kids. Standing for exam and showing his bite are going just as great. Though I am sure he would love to jump and kiss the examiner!!
Baron is the yappy boy in the house. He loves to be the center of attention. Which of course makes i even more fun to show him off. He exudes confidence and I am super excited to see him in the ring!! Baron would rather be strutting his stuff throughout the house, yard, on walks, where ever than standing still, but we are working on it!

and then there was one
I was totally prepared to keep as many puppies as necessary until they found their perfect homes. It's just one of those things that is required of breeders. At 3 months old I must admit my floor space was starting to shrink!! lol but house training the crew has been a breeze.
My floor space has begun opening up again. Only one puppy left looking for his perfect family! Pandarus is available to the right home. But until then he is enjoying the walks and the social outtings!!

Two down ......
Ok, finally downloaded the pictures off of my camera. A week ago Huxley went to his new home, he is close by and I am sure I will get to see him lots.
And then this past Tuesday Sohan left on a flight with his new mom in NB. They had a safe flight and I am already receiving reports of adventures through the woods!!
HAVE FUN!!!

WOW!!
This past Saturday the Eurasier Club of Canada held a Sanction Match following BIS at the Alberta Kennel Club show. I took Karma, Sohan (and his mom) as well as Bishop to the match. There were two other aussies entered, a red merle 9 month old girl and the puppies father, Rufus.
Bishop and Sohan were in the class together and I truly thought Sohan would get it, he had confidence and actually was moving more than my boy. When the judge told me I took 1st in the class I was thrilled. Next up was Rufus and as he was the only one in his class we both went in for Winner's Dog. Bishop was encouraged to "follow daddy" and when we were finally placed the judge asked us what we were saying ..... "Well in my opinion you have done something right, the puppy is better than his father. He is my winner's male." OMG I was extatic!! Next up Karma and the other girl were in seperate classes so both went on for Winner's Female, Karma won and then I was called back into the ring with Bishop. We went around, were judged again and ............. Bishop won Best of Breed and of course Best of Breed Puppy. Since the Aussies were the only herding breed entered I also recieved Herding Group 1st and Best Puppy in Herding Group!!
By now Bishop was getting tired and in the Best in Show ring we tried our hardest but the award was given to the Otterhound. Congrats Bev on the win, your puppy is outstanding!
So Bishop's first show was a success .... hopefull he will continue in his winning ways!

I am not going to cry ......
I am NOT going to cry!!! ok maybe just a little. Raising this litter has been exciting and fun. I am so thankful to Richelle for allowing me to use Rufus and to the new friends I have made. Yesterday while I was cleaning up the yard I left the door open to allow the puppies to come out and play for a bit. I turned around and saw this ..............
and then bawled. I am sure going to miss them!! So if you think I am rushing you out the door ..... it's because I am going to break down and bawl like a baby!!

So Who is going to end up where???
With puppy eye checks and evals done all that is left is for their first set of core vaccines and their identification. I have been attempting to get ahold of the lady who does my tattoos on the dogs for me. She did Spirit's tattoo when she was a pup and it is still ledgible, the others not so much. Finger's crossed. If not I will contact CKC and have them express ship me microchips. Every purebred dog registered with CKC MUST be identified before leaing the breeders home. So either way they will have identification.
Have you all thought about registered names? I would like three suggestions for each pup just in case the name is not allowable with the CKC. But so far here is what we have and who is going where.
BMM #1 - Pandarus: Available to a Pet/Performance home, he could also be shown if you do not mind a dilute patch. He is very correct and would do well in anything you wish. I am registering him as Edana's Return From Obscurity
BTF #1 - Mina: This little princess has found her family here in AB. She will be on the smaller end of the scale, probably closer to the 18" mark. Her registered name will be Edana's Second Hope
BMM #2 - Sohan: This stunning boy will be going to live with Chloe Basque in NB. His registered name will be Edana's Take It Or Leave It
BMM #3 - Baron: This handsome baby will be staying HERE!! He is so much like his Grandma it is hard to picture him elsewhere. Baron's registered name will be Edana's Kiss My Assets
BTM #1 - Bishop: WOW I love this boy to bits, he reminds me of his Grandpa Ty in markings and his daddy in temperment. His registered name is Edana's Millennium of Aftermath
BTF #2 - Eclipse: She is now loving the country life on her very own farm in central AB (but she does have to share with big brother Willy, a couple cats and the horses!). Her registered name will be Edana's Lunar Eclipse
BTM #2 - Huxley: This handsome fellow will be staying in Calgary and moving into Kyla Low's life, watch out Rob, he is a heart stealer!!! His registered name will be Edana's Not This Time Gadget (Inspector Gadget)
BMF - Karma: This little princess will be going to live with her new parents who intend on showing her to Canadian Championship!!! Karma's registered name will be Edanas Sunset Legacy at Debern
Thank you to all our new family members. I will be adding family photos as the pups leave to their new lives. Remember I LOVE UPDATES! lol so send them along so I can post them here to the blog!!

Puppy Evaluations!!
First off I would like to thank Kathy & Damien Bhana for coming out to evaluate the litter. THANK YOU!!! The puppies were awake when they began and everyone is still going strong ... cue headache lol
A dog with mostly 3's as a score: This dog accepts human leaders easily. Is the best prospect for the average owner, adapts well to new situations and generally good with children and elderly, although it may be inclined to be active. Makes a good obedience prospect and usually has a common sense approach to life.
A dog with mostly 4's as a score: This dog is submissive and will adapt to most households. May be slightly less outgoing and active than a dog scoring mostly 3's. Gets along well with children in general and trains well.
Please keep in mind that this only a guideline and is not a guarantee.
Mostly 3's: Pandarus, Mina, Baron, Bishop, Eclipse & Karma
Mostly 4's: Huxley (Roman) & Sohan (Moose)

8 Weeks Old - Stacked Part One
WOW the babies are 8 weeks old already. I am so excited with this litter. I honestly think that I accomplished everything I hoped for with this cross. The puppies have medium bone, rich colors, a mix of outgoing and laid back pups with brains!!
I have split the crew in two for their pictures......

Eye Exams
This morning we loaded all 8 puppies, Spirit, Bliss, Keara, Lochlan and myself into the van. We met Richelle. her kidlets, Rufus & Kahlua and headed off to the CARE Centre for eye exams. Arriving before our scheduled time we unloaded and began filling out paperwork. Once I recieve all the registration numbers for the puppies the centre will then send the results.
And now the news everyone has been waiting for .................
All the puppies are CLEAR
Mina has a notation that she has an iris to iris PPM but everyone else has no notations!! (click for write up on PPM) At 6 months of age Mina will be seen again, just to make sure that the PPM is gone (as hypothosized by the Dr. S).
YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(oh and Spirit, Bliss, Rufus & Kahlua are clear as well)
